How do children meet our architecture as a subject and a learning arena?
The Sverre Fehn Day is a professional arrangement at the Ivar Aasen Yard linked to Sverre Fehn’s birthday 14 August.
Since architecture is now a subject in school (6-15), experienced professionals holding various positions will talk what experiences people have had with the subject and what are its possibilities. The actual physical layout of school has been the object of changing ideals over time and most teaching takes place in a built environment that has to function through these changing ideals. The media and periodicals present the latest pedagogical fashion (open plan schools, digital learning, whatever), but how long do they last? As well as having this professional aspect, the day is intended to serve as a social meeting point towards the end of summer.
